Happy girl!

We fell asleep together while reading a book!

Playing with mommy when daddy gets home from work!

Ella is one month old! Our little girl is totally her father's daughter. Can't you tell? She is looking more and more like her daddy everyday (which is a compliment because I think her dad is pretty cute)!

We also can't believe that another baby girl in our family is officially a big girl now....we can hardly believe that our little Grayce is 6 years old today! I am so proud of what a smart, sweet and sassy little girl she has become. We love you, Grayce! We can't wait for you to meet Ella...

Ella has reflux so we have been trying to take care of her reflux issues so that she can be a happy little girl. It makes us so miserable to see her upset and fussing when there isn't much we can do to make her feel better! We are trying Zantac that our dr. recommended so cross your fingers for Ella that will help us all get a little more sleep.

I was able to go out for a run on Sunday morning for the first time in MONTHS. I know now why they advise you to wait for 6 weeks before getting back into an exercise routine as I am paying for it today. I was also able to go to a tea at the Drake Hotel (one of my fave things to do, ever) that benefited Be Bright Pink, a breast and ovarian cancer awareness non-profit. My friend Erica is very involved with this wonderful organization so I was honored to go and support my friend and such a wonderful cause. I was excited to put on a real dress, do my make up AND hair for the first time in a long time.

We love you all and hope that y'all had a wonderful weekend!

3 weeks old.....I can't believe how fast our time is flying!

Ella is 3 weeks old...again, I cannot believe how fast another week has flown by. Our days and nights are centered around feeding, cuddling and making Ella happy and it is always amazing to me how quickly the day flies by. We will look up and it will be 5 pm and we wonder where our day has gone!

We had some visitors during the week and we were so glad to have them! Beth, Sam and Erica all made it over to see Ella. Erica and Sam had not met Ella yet and we were excited for them to meet her! We will have many fun brunches and outings with Ella in tow for the future hopefully.

Scott celebrated his first Father's Day yesterday! Ella insisted on an outing on Friday so we made a trip to one of our favorite malls to get Daddy a present and Ella was such a good girl! She even let mommy shop a little bit (a TRUE luxury these days)!

On Saturday, my friend Holly and I hosted our first Northcenter Club meet up with some other moms in our neighborhood! We hope that the group gains some traction. After our Starbucks outing, Abby came over to meet Ella. Ella was a little cranky but loved meeting her auntie Abby! Abby brought over the most beautiful orchid and a PRECIOUS book named "Madeline and the cats of Rome". LOVE IT! Italy is our most favorite place and the book follows Madeline throughout Rome and covers all of the famous sites. It was the most perfect gift for Ella. I cannot wait to read this book to her. We are already talking about our next Italian vacation and can't wait to show Ella our favorite spots!

We had a rough Saturday and Saturday night that spilled into Sunday afternoon...I think that Ella has some tummy issues that I will have to ask our doctor about. I hope that Scotty had a good day even though the only thing we got to do is venture out to Costco!

We hope all of our favorite Dads out there had a great day! Miss and love you E-Pa! Ella and I can't wait to see you in Atlanta soon...

2 weeks....seriously??

Our little Ella is already 2 weeks old. I am really sad that our first 2 weeks have gone by so quickly. She is an angel. We do have a fussy period between the hours of 8 pm- 11 pm, but, other than that, we are blessed with a sweet and happy baby. The first week was really hard! The hardest thing that we both have ever done. Seeing her for the first thing in the morning or a random smile makes our hearts melt. She is already quite the daddy's girl. What a lucky girl to have such a sweet and patient daddy.

Gramdma Peg and Grandpa have been here this week and are having such a great time spending time with Ella! We went for some walks, brunch and even made it to church. Ella loves being around people and being social =)

We went to our 2nd week dr. appt on Monday and we got glowing praises for weight and development. She has gained 11 oz in a week! She has outgrown all of her newborn onesies!! She is now 8 lbs 14 oz. And, would you believe, on Sunday night, we were all sitting around after dinner talking about a zagat food survey and daddy mentioned that Panera salads got rated for their salads. Well, Peggy and I were quite excited and started laughing about something and Ella chimed in with a certified giggle that lasted at least 3 seconds! I have 2 witnesses. We were all shocked and amazed. She then smiled and giggled one more time after that! We were all shocked! Dr. Newport told us that while rare, it is entirely possible for her to laugh this early. She was really impressed! We, of course, know that our Ella is something special so we weren't too surprised to hear that she was ahead of the curve!

We continue to feel so blessed and happy every day to have her in our lives. God has been so good to us and we are so thankful for Ella and our family and friends!

I went a little overboard on the pictures but couldn't help it....

One Week Old Already!

We are already celebrating our Ella's one week birthday. We can't believe it. It has been a short week spent cuddling, trying to catch up on sleep, trying to remember what sleep was/is, and doting on our little girl....

Gram and E-Pa are back in Atlanta and the house feels so empty! It is weird for it to be just the 3 of us but I am sure we can handle it! The Francis family is coming to town this week to meet Ella as well...

Check out some pictures from our first week below. We had neighbors and friends stop by and we can't wait for our other friends to drop by to meet Ella!

She's Here!!!! 6 days late and so worth the wait.....

Our beautiful Ella DeLane Francis is here and we arrived home yesterday with all of our stuff (and Gram) in tow.

It was the most surreal, amazing experience I have ever had. We went in on Sat. morning to check on something pretty normal and sure enough, Ella was letting us know that she was on her way.....

We had an amazing delivery and are so blessed to have such a beautiful baby girl. The most surprising thing about our Ella D. was how big she was!! 8 lbs, 6 oz. We couldn't believe it, and neither could our doctor, Dr. Tan.

I couldn't have asked for a better team for the delivery. Scott was so amazing, as usual. He was so supportive and sweet and encouraged me so much. Dr. Tan and our L&D nurse, Jessica, were so great as well....I couldn't have done it without these people!!!

I wanted to post some pics of E from the hospital and our voyage home. She is getting pretty comfy in her new surroundings!

We love you all so much and cannot think you enough for calls, emails and prayers. You cannot know how much it means to us!

Love from our new family,
Scott, Nicole and Ella
